Membership brings together Asians, Asian-Americans and non-Asians interested in developing an understanding and appreciation of Asian cultures.

Open to anyone 18 years of age or older. A/PGF is a registered “non-profit” organization.

How are my membership dues spent?

A/PGF is a non-profit corporation. All Board, Committee Chairs and Event Coordinators are volunteers and receive no compensation for their services.

Membership dues are used to pay for catered meals, as well as for beverages, cups, napkins, plates and utensils at our potlucks. For some events, we subsidize the membership costs, when discounts can not be obtained. There are administrative costs associated with the operation of our organization such as our website and Post Office box.

A/PGF is required by law to keep financial records, minutes of the Board meetings and to file financial reports with the government. The Treasurer reimburses individuals for out of pocket expenses associated with events when receipts are submitted and approved by the Board.

The more events you attend, the more value you get for your membership dues.

Can I come to an event before I join?

Yes. Guests are welcome at up to three events to get a sense of our organization. After three events, guests are asked to become members to keep participating. Past members whose membership has expired need to renew.

What is a “Member Benefit Event”?

Member Benefit Events are exclusively for members and are free to them, such as our pool party and two buffet-style meals each year. Guest privileges do not apply, but you can join before the event to be admitted.

Who can join A/PGF?

Membership and full participation are open to anyone 18 years of age or older, without regard to race, creed, color, sex, occupation, national origin, citizenship or sexual orientation.

How do I pay my dues?

Online with a credit card, PayPal or Venmo through our secure membership form, or by cheque using the mail-in application. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.

How do I hear about upcoming events?

Join our email list. A/PGF sends an email for each event about one week and two days before it, plus “plan ahead” emails for special events. Your address is never shared.

How are membership dues spent?

A/PGF is a non-profit run entirely by volunteers. Dues pay for catered meals, potluck supplies, event subsidies and administrative costs such as our website and Post Office box.
